Growth and Development

At Harper's 6 month check up on October 15th, she weighed 15.14 pounds and was 27 inches long. That is the 40% for weight and 95% for height. She is tall but a string bean! She is now doing so much in such a short period of time. It is amazing how many new skills develop per day!!! She can grasp things and move them from hand to hand; she sits unsupported; she crawls in mnay different ways including commando on hardwood floors and mainstream mostly on carpet but is almost there on slippery floors; she is pulling up on everything especially mom when she is laying on the floor; she could stand supported all day long; she eats her cookies on her own and wishes I would give her free range with her spoon ad food (I am not ready for that mess yet); she has started waving and I swear he said HI yesterday and she still loves to snuggle!!!

Her nights have finally gotten to a managable point. She goes to bed around 6:30pm and wakes at 3:30am for a bottle and diaper change and then right back to bed until 6:30-7am. She shares a room with her sister which seems to have worked out REALLY well in the end. She began sleeping in her crib at and 1/2 months while Hadley and Dad were in Hamilton for almost a week...it made the transition easier.

Her daytime routine is well esablished now but I am waiting for it to change again soon. She has her breakfast around 8am, botte at 9am and nap at 9:30am. That usually lasts an hour to 1+1/2 hours. She then has lunch around noon, bottle at 1pm and nap at 1:30pm. She wakes anywhere between 2:30 and 3:30pm. Then it is supper at 5pm, bath at 6pm and bed. It works very well for us all.

I just finished nursing 2 days ago as Harper is a biter. It is funny how some are and some aren't. I would have loved to continue (I am a little sad this time around) but could not take the war wounds any longer. That what I get having a baby with teeth so early.
