Happy New Year in the Falls

Brad and I decided to take the girls to Niagara Falls for New Year's Eve. We had dinner, saw the huge assortment of lights and went to the actual falls. It was tons of fun! Of course, we finished the night off with banging pots and pans on the porch...an age old tradition in the Gilvear family.

Potty Training Success

Harper is almost there! We started about 3 weeks ago and it has come along quite easily. We introduced the potty but nothing forceful. She would read books when on it and sign songs with her sister and mom. We gradually left her bare-bummed on weekends to see if it would lead her to the potty more often. And then, alas, she started telling us she needs to go. She does this little knees bent and leaning forward thing when she has to go so we ask her and of course, she goes. Theer has been no need for treats as reward for her as the high-fuves and potty dance have been great! She loves her pull-up's and especially going potty first thing in the morning when she wakes. Good work baby!

First Battle Royal

She is coming into her own for sure! About 1.5 months ago now, Harper had her first head to head battle...with her dad. She hit him and did not want to say sorry. She went in time out, to her bed and then the door closed. She absolutely refused to say sorry for about 40 minutes. Hope this is not a sign of what is to come!!!
